Census 2020

Once every decade, the federal government conducts a census of the entire population. The distribution of more than $675 billion in federal funds, grants and support to states, counties and communities is based on census data. This year, CEDA wants to make sure you are counted.

What is the Census?

The census is a count of every person who lives in the United States and its territories.

It happens every 10 years.

Responding to the 2020 Census is a chance to shape your life…

your household and the lives of those in the community.

How does it help?

Your responses inform where funding is distributed each year to communities nationwide for resources like clinics, schools, roads and more.

Census data also gives community leaders vital information to make decisions about building community centers, opening businesses and planning for the future.

How Does it Work?

Every household in America will receive a notice to complete the census online, by phone or by mail.

Households will be asked a few simple questions like –

age, sex and the number of people who live in the home, including children!

In the month of May, the U.S. Census Bureau will begin following up –

Be sure to respond!
